XB Field Notes is an independently maintained collection of practical notes about static websites, infrastructure, and routine operations.
The site is intentionally small, but it is not a mock product page:
- pages are generated from Markdown with a pinned Hugo and PaperMod version;
- downloads are plain text examples that can be inspected before use;
- there are no accounts, advertising scripts, analytics, comments, or simulated activity;
- examples avoid private keys, tokens, personal data, and environment-specific credentials.
New notes are original summaries written from public standards and vendor manuals. The sources index names the core references; individual notes record their source-check dates. Quoted material is kept to the minimum needed to identify a rule; the linked source remains authoritative.
The diagrams and article covers are original SVG files generated with the site’s own deterministic script. The homepage also uses a locally hosted datacenter photograph, and the menu uses a licensed icon; their attribution and licenses are recorded in the source repository’s third-party notices. Images, fonts, and styles do not require third-party browser requests, and the generated pages contain no executable JavaScript.
The examples describe general techniques rather than a managed service or a support commitment. Paths, host names, certificates, and policies must be reviewed before use in another environment.
The theme is vendored from PaperMod at a pinned release and its MIT license is included in the source repository. Site changes are listed in the changelog.
